KnotReels Ltd respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. This Copyright Policy outlines our procedures for addressing claims of copyright infringement in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and other applicable laws.

User Responsibility

By uploading content to KnotReels, you represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to use and authorize us to use all copyright, trademark, and other proprietary rights in your content
• Your content does not infringe, violate, or misappropriate any third-party intellectual property rights
• You have obtained all necessary consents, releases, and permissions from any individuals featured in your content
• AI-generated content you upload complies with all applicable copyright laws and does not reproduce copyrighted works without authorization

DMCA Safe Harbor Compliance

KnotReels qualifies for safe harbor protection under the DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512). We are a service provider that hosts user-generated content and takes appropriate action upon receiving valid notices of copyright infringement.

Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe that content on KnotReels infringes your copyright, please provide our DMCA agent with a written notice containing the following information (as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):

1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or person authorized to act on their behalf
2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works)
3. Identification of the infringing material and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate it (e.g., URL, post ID)
4. Your contact information, including address, telephone number, and email address
5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

⚠️ Warning: Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), you may be liable for damages (including costs and attorneys' fees) if you materially misrepresent that content is infringing.

Our Response to DMCA Notices

Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will:

• Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content promptly (typically within 24-48 hours)
• Notify the user who posted the content that we have removed or disabled access to it
• Provide the user with a copy of the takedown notice (including your contact information)
• Terminate repeat infringers' accounts in appropriate circumstances

Filing a DMCA Counter-Notice

If you believe your content was removed in error or misidentification, you may file a counter-notice containing:

1. Your physical or electronic signature
2. Identification of the content that was removed and its location before removal
3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the content was removed by mistake or misidentification
4. Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for your address (or London if outside the US), and that you will accept service of process from the complainant

Upon receiving a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant. If they do not file a court action within 10-14 business days, we may restore the content.

Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable laws, KnotReels has adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are deemed to be repeat infringers.

We may also, at our sole discretion, limit access to our platform and/or terminate the accounts of users who infringe any intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is any repeat infringement.

AI-Generated Content & Copyright

As AI-generated content becomes more prevalent, we recognize the unique copyright challenges it presents:

• Users uploading AI-generated content must ensure they have the right to use any copyrighted training data
• AI outputs that substantially reproduce copyrighted works may be subject to takedown
• Users should disclose when content is AI-generated (as required by our Terms of Service)
• We comply with evolving AI copyright regulations and may update this policy accordingly

Other Intellectual Property

While this policy focuses on copyright, KnotReels also respects trademark, patent, and other intellectual property rights. If you believe content on our platform violates your non-copyright IP rights, please contact us at info@knotreels.com with details of your claim.

Limitations of Liability

KnotReels is a platform for user-generated content. We do not:

• Pre-screen or monitor all content uploaded by users
• Have direct knowledge of specific infringing activity except as reported to us
• Receive financial benefit directly attributable to infringing activity where we have the right and ability to control such activity
• Make editorial decisions about user content beyond enforcing our Terms of Service and legal obligations

We act expeditiously to remove or disable access to material upon receiving proper notice and comply with all safe harbor provisions of the DMCA.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Copyright Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law or our practices. Continued use of KnotReels after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
